I'm 37 and I've had acne all my life. I'd get hopeful and buy these expensive items that claimed to work, only to stop using them because they weren't working. I understand that you need to be patient in the beginning because some will make your condition worse before it clears up. I've had the problem of picking at my acne and so when things get worse, I'm a lost cause. I was pleasantly surprised that my acne cleared up within a month of using Proactive. I haven't had the temptation to pick at my face, and I don't have to wear foundation every day to cover them up. I live in the desert and make-up just melts off my face. I find this product completely worth its price and I will continue using it as long as I continue to get these results. Plus my confidence level has gone up. Yay!

Why is it different: The renewing cleanser is formulated with prescription-grade benzoyl peroxide in an oil-free formula. Gentle exfoliating beads remove dead skin cells to prepare skin for the revitalizing toner. The toner is alcohol free and designed to hydrate and help soothe the skin with gentle botanicals. The repairing lotion is formulated with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in a gentle, creamy formula that won't dry, strip, or irritate the skin. The refining mask adds an additional proven acne-fighting medicine, sulfur, to the powerful three-step system to help deep clean, soothe, and calm the skin while addressing blemishes. Always wear a sunscreen when going outside. Avoid eye area.

How do I use it: Start with the renewing cleanser, morning and night. Apply a small, dime-size amount to dampened skin and gently massage, avoiding the eye area. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. Apply the revitalizing toner to skin with a cotton ball or pad, morning and night. Allow to dry. Follow by applying a thin layer of repairing lotion to clean skin, morning and night. Allow to dry. Do not rinse off. Refining mask can be used two to three times per week or as needed for more stubborn breakouts. Apply to damp skin, leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

After having tried a multitude of acne treatments, creams, cleansers, medications and gels, I have to say that Proactiv actually works. Not only does it eradicate acne, but it create an even skin tone, and after using it for four months already I'm almost at a point where I don't need to wear foundation anymore. It also does not dry your skin out, unlike many other acne treatments, and I noticed dramatic results in a few weeks.

I've had a problem with acne for quite a while. It's never been too bad but my skin has never been completely clear either. I've heard a lot of reviews about ProActiv and thought it was worth a try. It worked just like every other face wash I've every used. It kept my skin for breaking out too much but I still broke out. I would just stick with the less expensive stuff then spend over on this product again.

This stuff works on atheletes foot under the toes, between, etc. The clear sort of thick liquid is easy to rub into and around those areas, sticks and penetrates well and appears to dry relatively quickly. No smell, no white cream making a mess. It may take longer to work than some of the newer stuff, but is just as effective. In the Summer after the rash is gone I just keep using it as a preventive along with one of those powders that also have an ingredient to kill the fungus among us.
