Never shows that I am ovulating - rowantheelf -
I bought these because they were cheaper than the ones I get at the store and now I can see why. I have been using these sticks since July and they never say I am ovulating. Every day is negative, except the one time I got an invalid result. I don't believe these sticks are accurate because when using other strips I did get a you're ovulating result.

I've been using these for about 7 months now and I only had one strip ever show a positive reading. I've been taking my temp alongside these and I have ovulated every month. The one month I got a positive they were accurate, but I don't understand why it's only happened once. I even start testing way before I'm due to ovulate and still nothing. They were cheap and my O.B. kept pushing me to use them, but it's a way better idea to learn the signs of ovulation and take your temp if you have regular cycles.

Blood test is the only way to detect ovulation. My doctor told me not to use the sticks they are a farce. They were cheap so I figured I would try them anyway. Not one positive reading. Don't waste your money.

Jane Addams and Chicago South Suburbs Healthcare

Jane Addams was born in 1860 in a Chicago south suburbs hospital of an upper-class family. She studied at Rockford College, and was one of the first women in America to graduate from a college. Because she was frustrated by the dearth of opportunities which were available to ambitious and intelligent young ladies, she journeyed to Europe with a friend she knew in college, Ellen Gates Starr. In 1887, as their trip was ending, they paid a visit to Toynbee Hall, which was located in the Whitechapel district of London (the place where Jack the Ripper committed his crimes one year later). Toynbee Hall was the very first settlement house: a house located in an impoverished neighborhood in which people who had been educated in college could settle and work together to help improve the lives of the poor. Jane Addams and Ellen Starr were impressed by what they saw and they determined to start a settlement house when they returned to Chicago. They rented a house on Halsted St. in Chicago's poorest, toughest neighborhood which had formerly been owned by Charles Hull, and called it Hull House.

Hull House was opened in 1889. Its earliest offerings included classes about Shakespeare, discussions about fine art, and classical music concerts. Jane Addams and Ellen Starr and their associates found collaborators among their elite friends in Chicago south suburbs healthcare. The University of Chicago began to offer extension school coursework at Hull House (the first time this had been done outside of the University). A trustee from the Chicago Art Institute donated an art gallery which put on regular shows which frequently brought hundreds of visitors. The Chicago Public Library opened a branch at Hull House. Among the famous lecturers who spoke at Hull House were educator / philosopher John Dewey, the suffragist Susan B. Anthony, architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and star lawyer Clarence Darrow. All of these cultural events were offered to help immigrants to adjust to America and to help educate lower-class Americans.

Jane Addams was not so naïve as to believe that her work was merely altruistic. She saw that Hull House was as much for the benefit of the upper-class volunteers who manned it - giving socially-conscious upper-class women a way to channel their energy - as it was for the poor. As the project grew her approach changed: she began to try to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood and south Chicago Illinois hospital. Because the putrid garbage in the streets and alleys bred rats where the local children played, she had a garbage incinerator installed at Hull House. When the city government ignored her complaints about the garbage conditions in the neighborhood, she attempted to obtain a job as a garbage collector. In 1895 the city did appoint her inspector of garbage, which job entailed making sure that garbage bins were emptied and that trash was burned. Eventually Hull House included a museum of labor, a day care center, and a theater. It also offered classes on electricity, sewing and mending, and mathematics as well as the original arts curriculum.

Jane Addams became a well-known advocate for the poor and disadvantaged and a leader of the progressive movement. She was a spokesperson for the National Federation of Settlements, the National American Women Suffrage Association, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the American Civil Liberties Union. A pacifist and internationalist at a time when most Americans were isolationists, she was a founder of the International League for Peace and Freedom after World War I and was its president for ten years. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931; she died four years later. The Hull House is presently part of the University of Chicago and is a museum of Jane Addams work and life.

This product did nothing for my hair or style. Directions say to use before the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray. I used as directed a few times and did not like the feel of my hair after it was dry. My hair is short so maybe someone with long more tangled hair will see a difference. I would not buy again. Not worth the money.

I bought this awesome hair spray online about a year ago after my hairstylist used it on my hair and strongly recommended it. When I was leaving I didn't have the cash to buy it in my salon and so she told me to buy online directly from Bumble and Bumble, because if you buy from other places likes Target or on Amazon they might be counterfeit. I guess someone is diluting the formulas down to make more money, I don't know. If you google it you can usually find more information about it, though there was much more a year ago.

Anyway, I decided to buy online on Amazon anyway because it was slightly cheaper, and I did notice a difference. The product I got on Amazon made my hair feel greasy and heavy, not at all like my experience at salons. But it was too late so I've just been using it. Since I don't use the product that often I only had to buy some more now. I bought directly from Bumble and Bumble this time to compare and there is a distinct difference. What I bought from B&B is light and makes my hair shine, as it should. It acts as a great moisturizer. Once I opened the bottle I could immediately smell the difference between the two products. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but I think it's worth the few dollars difference to buy from B&B to really get what you're paying for.

I am a regular user of the B&B tonic spray, which I usually buy at the local beauty supply chain. I was excited to find the products for less on Amazon. Prior to ordering, I had not seen the reviews stating that others thought it was an imposter, but I agree that it seems like a different product. I compared it to the remaining tonic spray that I bought from the store. The scent smells less like tea tree and more like alcohol. It doesn't have the same color (white) as my prior bottles. It left my hair feeling heavy and flat--something I have never experienced before from this product. I went onto the reviews to see if anyone else felt this and apparently others have had the same experience. I also bought the Super Rich Conditioner and the Tonic Shampoo...the conditioner also seems off (less thick, not as nice a smell), and I have not tried the tonic shampoo yet. Maybe they are the real thing and just old, but doesn't seem that way. I would consider keeping imposters if they worked for my hair, but so far they are resulting in a big, bad hair day. I am going to see if I can return it, but I am not sure if it will even be possible Overall, very disappointed. It is worth it to pay a little extra for what is assuredly the real thing.

I have been purchasing this Bumble & Bumble hair tonic from a local salon and using it for a couple of years. I would give the product based on that experience 5 stars, but based on this Amazon purchase, I give it 2 stars. I won't go so far as to call this an "imposter" like another reviewer, but I do agree it is different. It still works ok for my purposes: like other reviewers I have fine straight hair, and this product works better than water to refresh my hair between washings. I spray lightly all over my bed-head, brush it out, and then blow dry. However, I used to be able to go 2 days without washing, but with this Amazon bottle, I can only go one day before my hair starts to look greasy. Also, one of the main reasons I first bought this product was the scent. My salon bottles always had a strong, delightful, minty, tea tree scent that made me feel invigorated and happy. The bottle I purchased from Amazon has a faint scent that is medicinal and vaguely offensive like formaldehyde. I had a bottle with a little left over from a salon purchase, and I compared it with the Amazon bottle. The bottles and labels are very similar, but not identical. Further, the Amazon bottle is not as "milky" looking, and once shaken has a perma-froth on top, whereas the salon product's froth soon dissolves. This may all be due to normal manufacturing differences...or perhaps the Amazon product is older or was left in storage with temperature extremes that changed the emulsion properties or broke down the essential oils. Just speculating, but do be aware of the potential differences if you choose to purchase this product from Amazon. **Update: I decided to get another bottle from a salon and not use what I bought from Amazon. I'm back in my former B&B Hair Tonic bliss...The owner said that (rumor alert) salons that are going out of business will sell their overstock to resellers, and you can end up with old bottles that are way past their expiration date. I don't know if that's the case here, but it could explain it.

I was taking Fenugreek along with Alfalfa and mothers milk tea for months to increase my supply and I the combo had. Then my baby became very gassy and making our lives miserable. I suspected everything from my food to the supplements. I tried cutting different foods then reintroducing them and no change. Finally I decidedvto read up in the supplements and found that in 20% of babies Fenugreek causes gas and/or fussiness.

So the next day I stopped taking it. Now 1 week has passed and not only has my baby's gassiness gone away I oddly feel that I have more milk.

I'm sure this works for some so can't say it's bad. Just be aware that this can happen.

This is proven to be effective in increasing milk production when lectating in clinical studies. You do need to take higher dose which is 2 tabs three times a day. Retail chain in my city, the price was higher and pill count was lower, so definately a good deal to buy from amazon. I would highly recommend this for lactating mothers.
Also, diabetics can benefit from it too.

Everyone said to try Fenugreek to increase lactation. I took it several (3-4 times) per day for about 5 days. I didn't notice any increase. Maybe it is just my system. The label, interestingly, does not claim to improve lactation. Maybe it is just a popular wives tale that it does.

Works like a Charm - Philana -
After having tried a multitude of acne treatments, creams, cleansers, medications and gels, I have to say that Proactiv actually works. Not only does it eradicate acne, but it create an even skin tone, and after using it for four months already I'm almost at a point where I don't need to wear foundation anymore. It also does not dry your skin out, unlike many other acne treatments, and I noticed dramatic results in a few weeks.

I've had a problem with acne for quite a while. It's never been too bad but my skin has never been completely clear either. I've heard a lot of reviews about ProActiv and thought it was worth a try. It worked just like every other face wash I've every used. It kept my skin for breaking out too much but I still broke out. I would just stick with the less expensive stuff then spend over on this product again.

This is perfect for use with a massage table. Fits just right under the knees and was just what I was looking for! I do think if I was using it for sleep purposes, in bed, it might be a little too short in width. However, when someone is laying on a 30 inch table, it's a perfect fit. And I've heard nothing but compliments on the difference it makes in comfort.

Wish I'd read the reviews - reg - Houston
Every time I buy something without reading the reviews, I regret it. This is definitely one of those situations. The picture perspective definitely makes the pillow look much longer than it is. Even the picture on the package makes it look like you should have at least 6 inches on both sides extending from your legs. I got out my tape measure. The length I measured was 16", not the 17" listed in the product description. I held the tape measure over my legs and I measured 16" there too. I'm not a petite person, but I don't think 6" would extend out on both sides if I was a 3 year old. If you want to use this while sleeping, I would suggest getting two of these, one for each leg. The pillow is quite firm, but does compress more easily on the ends, which is where your legs end up resting. If you are using it while awake, one pillow would probably do.

While recovering from surgery, which necessitated sleeping on my back, I used two of these under my knees. I think that you'd have to be very small to be able to get by with one. They turned out to be a little too firm to be completely comfortable, but the optimum degree of firmness (and height) will likely vary considerably from individual to individual. Adding a thick towel helped some.

NOT! it was not as comfortable as the one they gave for my cat scan. cheap and speedy delivery though. gathering dust right now.



Elevating Leg Rest - Exsoccermom - San Francisco Bay Area
This leg rest does what it is supposed to do, and I find the width acceptable since I occasionally like to turn on my side and not use the leg rest. The width of the leg rest allows a little "wiggle room" in the bed. I believe that the leg rest accelerated my recovery from an aching back.

Beware of Health Insurance Infomercials

I don't know about you, but when I see the term "low cost," I immediately assume the product is of very little use and limited quality. And when I see the Infomercial king Billy Mayes pitching a health insurance policy...well...I know there's something wrong. And there is.

The policy he's peddling is like Swiss cheese. Full of holes...and full of something else as well! Consider these policy provisions on the 1100 Series policy:

$100 application fee. Sorry...but you NEVER should pay an application fee.
Only $1000 of surgery coverage per year. Seriously...I'm not kidding!
Limit of $20 per blood test of lab test.
Limit of $220 for an MRI.
Only $1100 of your hospitalization charges are covered per year.
Anesthesia charges limited to $250 per surgery (that's about 10 minutes, folks!).
NO outpatient surgery coverage.
Inpatient hospital expenses such as lab work, blood tests, medications etc...are NOT covered!

And it keeps getting better! For Ohio residents, the cost is NOT $50 per month, as you might expect. Try $159 per month and a whopping $269 per month for an entire family.

At those prices, you should get a food dehydrator, a knives and cutlery set, a pasta maker, a pocket fisherman and an autographed picture of Lebron James.

The focus of this article is not necessarily to bash infomercials. They are quite entertaining and generally the product that is being presented, is worthwhile. But health insurance policies do not belong on infomercials. A health insurance policy is a contract between the insurance company and the policyholder where millions of dollars can change hands.

Granted, this plan is a little better than the dreaded "discount plans" that have flooded the market. But, there are many inexpensive major medical health insurance plans that are a much better option than Billy's overpriced product.

A few of these options include UnitedHealthCare's "Copay Saver" plans, Anthem's "Value" plans and Aetna's "Value" plans.
