The latest Playstation Portable revision, the PSP-3000, has everything the older PSPs had but now includes a built-in microphone, which lets you take advantage of voice features in some games as well as the PSP's built-in Skype functionality without having to use a headset. This PSP-3000 comes in a sleek black color scheme and also includes an improved anti-reflective screen that offers higher contrast and clearer visibility in well-lit places and can even be used outdoors.
A Full Entertainment System in Your Hands
The PSP was designed to handle all varieties of applications and entertainment -- music, video, communication, wireless networking, and, of course, gaming. Users will enjoy top-notch 3D games with high-quality, full-motion video, and high-fidelity audio. The 4.3-inch wide screen display is bright and beautiful, and works well under many different lighting conditions. If you prefer, you can also connect your PSP to your TV. The PSP utilizes the Universal Media Disc (UMD) for a storage medium, each of which holds 1.8 GB of data.
Hundred of Games to Choose From
The PSP gaming library is hundreds of titles strong and covers a wide variety of genres. Whether you are seeking the hard hits of football or the strategy of a puzzle game, there's sure to be many games for you. The PSP is capable of graphics quality that is comparable to the PlayStation 2, but in a pocket-sized package that you can take wherever you go.
Watch Movies and Videos On The Go
When you just want to sit back and enjoy a movie on a long plane trip, the PSP has you covered. The PSP offers two options to do this: you can either purchase full-length movies and TV shows on UMD, or you can download videos onto your computer and transfer them on a Memory Stick Duo for playing on your PSP. Included in the package is the movie National Treasure 2 on UMD.
You can also watch recorded television content downloaded to a Memory Stick Duo with the TiVo-To-Go service. (Please note that this requires $24.95 fee, you must have a TiVo Series2 connected to your home network.)
Listen to Your Music Collection Anywhere
With the ability to play MP3, WAV, WMA, ATRAC3+, and MP4 files, you can easily use your PSP as an audio player. Simply place your music on a Memory Stick Duo, and you can navigate your collection using the PSP's XMB (XrossMediaBar) to select your song to play.
Built-in WiFi allows for Internet Browsing and Online Gaming
With built-in WiFi, you can access the Internet from any accessible hotspot. Once connected, you can surf the Web and download exclusive demos and content for your PSP from the PlayStation Store.
The WiFi also allows you to battle other gamers, both over the Internet and in your local vicinity.

Choice handheld gaming over Nintendo DS (2009-03-31)
Great system.
Big screen, multimedia, comparable to PS2 which is amazing, microphone, skype, smaller, and I like the games on the PSP (RESISTANCE: RETRIBUTION!!!!!) way better than the Nintendo DS.
I hope with this PSP-3000 there are new games coming our way.
It would not bother me at all if they remade some classics for the PSP-3000 (as long as they are developed correctly and not rushed). I would definitely get them:
1. FFVII (FAVORITE GAME ON THE PSX ONE)
2. PARASITE EVE (RANKS UP THERE WITH RESIDENT EVIL)
3. RESIDENT EVIL (FAVORITE HORROR)
4. LEGACY OF KAIN (ONE OF FAVORITE ADVENTURES OF ALL TIME)
Wanted.. PSP memory (2009-03-13)
I researched all about this system before purcaseing it, and after I purchased itI noticed that it has hardly any memory. So far the best option for me is to buy the 8GB memory card from amazon. How ever for someone that is going to buy a PSP 3000 the best option would be to buy the Ratchet and Clank value pack, the games and movies are bad but you can sell them at gamestop and pick out a game that you want, beasides the value pack comes with some stuff that is normally pretty expesive.
Best Handheld Ever! (2009-03-03)
This is definetly the best handheld system. It has amazing graphics. It is like a PS2 in your hands. The joystick is and buttons are very strong. It also has a built in microphone so you use Skype to call people anywhere in the world with and internet connection. Also the internet is pretty fast for a handheld. You can also put music, video, pictures, and download games from the playstation network. And since you need an internet connection to use Skype and download games from the playstation network you can use a wireless hotspot also and since those are everywhere now it will be very easy to find them. Overall the PSP is a great handheld system and I highly recommend getting one for yourself.
It's great. However, there's always room for improvement. (2009-03-01)
It's a great system to have, and there's always room for improvement. I just got this PSP yesterday, and it's pretty good; it plays my music pretty well. I don't have any UMDs, so I can't tell how well the playback is (although I've read other reviews about the playback being pretty good.) The only problem I have with this system is that it doesn't support a lot of video and picture formats. I thought the usual formats (like for images: jpg, gif, png, etc.) and for video: avi, wmv, etc.) would work just as well as the MP3 playback, but as it turns out, it doesn't support those kinds of formats for some reason. Of course, I'm a newbie at this, so I'll have to look further into this system. Also, browsing the internet is good, but it kinda lacks the ability to update the built in flash player for certain sites.
Overall, it's pretty good, but if you're a newbie like me, you may have to study up on this.
PSP 3000 (2009-02-24)
Not sure why they call it a pack--you can't do anything with it until you buy something to use with it. Anyway, my son loves playing with this psp...that is after you buy a game and a memory stick.
