Best PSP RPG Yet! (2009-03-17)
This game has gotten more play time from me than just about anything else lately, and I have to say that other than some of the Square Enix ports to the DS (namely Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger) this has to be the best RPG for portable systems that I have played.
If you liked Phantasy Star Universe... (2009-03-08)
Phantasy Star Portable is very much like Phantasy Star Universe.
Same environments, cities, soundtrack, and of course, familiar characters from the series.
This time you get to create your own character in the game instead of being Ethan Waber, which is how I like it.
I like the PSP version better than the 360 iteration, as it contained less slowdown and was just more fun overall for me. Instead of traveling around the GUARDIANS Colony and other cities, you are given a bird's-eye perspective of the locations - so you would just click on Shop from a menu and enter it.
You would then move your cursor around to interact with the various vendors. This cuts down the confusing exploration that I had an issue with in PSU. More time shopping, less time getting lost.
Of course, the battles are exactly like PSU's real-time combat - that has not changed at all
I highly recommend playing Phantasy Star Universe before Phantasy Star Portable as the storyline takes place shortly afterwords, and newcomers to the series might not enjoy it as much if they don't know the backstory (if the story means anything to you).
All in all, it's a pretty good game :)
BEST PSP GAME EVER!!! (2008-10-23)
Well, the title says it all.
The best. No kidding.
If you liked prievious Phantasy Stars you'll go crazy for this portable version.
I know I did. Yep.
Good graphics, Nice music, Awesome story.
An installation of the PSU series it has new weapons, the classic battle style that I've come to love, new and old stuff... It's just the BEST!
I'll never get tired of it...
