The 4.3-inch wide screen display is bright and beautiful, and works well under many different lighting conditions. If you prefer, you can also connect your PSP to your TV. The PSP utilizes the Universal Media Disc (UMD) for a storage medium, each of which holds 1.8 GB of data.

Hundred of Games to Choose From
The PSP gaming library is hundreds of titles strong and covers a wide variety of genres. Whether you are seeking the hard hits of football or the strategy of a puzzle game, there's sure to be many games for you. The PSP is capable of graphics quality that is comparable to the PlayStation 2, but in a pocket-sized package that you can take wherever you go.

Watch Movies and Videos On The Go
When you just want to sit back and enjoy a movie on a long plane trip, the PSP has you covered. The PSP offers two options to do this: you can either purchase full-length movies and TV shows on UMD, or you can download videos onto your computer and transfer them on a Memory Stick Duo for playing on your PSP. Included in the package is the movie National Treasure 2 on UMD.

You can also watch recorded television content downloaded to a Memory Stick Duo with the TiVo-To-Go service. (Please note that this requires $24.95 fee, you must have a TiVo Series2 connected to your home network.)

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters Game Included
With this Limited Edition set, you'll get to play Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters right out of the box. A combination of a platformer and shooter, Size Matters delivers the over-the-top humor and fun that the series has come to be known for.

As is Ratchet and Clank's hallmark, the game features large cache of weapons, each of which can be upgraded to become larger and stronger. It's the sheer wackiness of the weapons that makes the game so much fun: among the many weapons at your disposal, you'll have the option of wielding a shotgun, a pistol that shoots killer bees, and a gun that shoots out robots.

The game makes full use of the PSP hardware and incorporates multiple lighting and particle effects without any slowdown in gameplay.

With this Limited Edition Entertainment Pack, you won't be lacking in entertainment options when you're on the run. In fact, you might actually start looking forward to your long commute.

PSP 3000 limited edition Ratchet & Clank Pack (2009-02-24)
It was a gift for my son's birthday, he didn't know what sort of game it was but I liked the pack deal & the idea of limited edition so I bought it for him, it's been a month now & he is still playing this game and loving it (which is amazing) and still crazy about his PSP. I love the features on this console; it has amazing graphics, very crisp colors and awesome looks and lots of customization options. It is sort of like Sidekick II cell phone which I have used in the past. I had to block the internet access though with my own password and loved that capability. Over all I am very happy with my purchase & would highly recommend it for all kids of 8 & up.

PSP 3000 (2009-02-17)

The PSP 3000 Limited Edition Rathcet and Clank Entertainment Pack - Silver is just the perfect gift for teens. They are enjoying watching movies and playing the games.

the psp is the bomb (2009-02-12)
my 11 year old son love this console ``is the best console ever and never created '' watch movies , play games , listen music .... etc

Lots to do (2009-02-01)
No longer need a separate MP3 player or potrable DVD player for the car. This little beauty does it all...not just video games. My son LOVES it and was surprised at how much he actually enjoyed the game that came along with it. System came with National Treasure 2 also and then got an extra game deal with it after Thanksgiving. Woo Hoo!

Fantastic! (2009-01-30)
I am totally kicking myself for not getting this thing sooner! On one hand, I got the 3000 model which is the latest and greatest but on the other hand I can't do custom firmware and have a bunch of cool emulators and other stuff YET.

The PSP is intuitive, fits well in my hand, has remarkable battery life, uses UMDs which are basically CDs in a protective case, is lightweight yet sturdy, and has wireless capabilities built in.

I have already mated this thing to my PS3 and am able to have access (as long as you have a WiFi signal to use) to my PS3 from ANYWHERE. I have a network harddrive that my PS3 is also networked to, which gives me the 320GB in my PS3 and the 500GB on my network to store music, movies, pictures, and whatever else I need to for use on my PSP. I'm hoping to have a job soon that requires a bit of travel every now and again so that's what this console was intended for. However, I have found myself time and again sitting in the car or on break and reaching over for this little gem.

I have yet to try EchoChrome (wish the silver version had come with Everyday Shooter) but expect it to be pretty sweet. Through the PlayStationStore you can buy PSP games or classic PSOne games for use on both your PS3 console and the PSP. The PSP has access to the PlayStationStore, allowing the purchase and download of games directly to your MS Pro Duo. I will have to go another route for this kind of purchase, as I have a MS Pro Duo adapter on the way that will convert two Micro SDHC cards into one solid memory stick. I essentially just got 16GB of storage for my PSP for around $40, but cannot download to it directly from the PlayStationStore (from what I've read but will try later).

Haven't watched National Treasure 2 (althought a friend nabbed the PSP and watched the movie before I could even get R&C: SM open) but it appeared to display well.

Even the sound coming from this little guy is impressive. I have yet to use the built in microphone. Updating firmware is done rather simply through the USB cable on the computer, but now should be capable with access to the PlayStationNetwork over a WiFi connection.

Bottom line you will not regret this purchase. I am EXTREMELY happy with mine and look forward to many many more RPGs to be released for it.

PSP 3000 (2009-02-24)
Not sure why they call it a pack--you can't do anything with it until you buy something to use with it. Anyway, my son loves playing with this psp...that is after you buy a game and a memory stick.

fun redefined (2009-02-22)
this was bought as a gift for my brother to replace his psp (1st generation). According to his evaluation, he seems to have more fun since its faster & brighter. SDidn't go wrong with this as a xmas gift.

psp (2009-02-20)
i ordered psp from amazon and it was deliverd on set forth day on time new works great no problems.

PSP Rocks! (2009-02-20)
I don't know why I waited so long to get one. God of War is awesome!

A great system with a few drawbacks. (2009-02-16)
The PSP-3000 has taken the place of a Nintendo DS (pre-Lite) as my handheld of choice.

To start, this unit is gorgeous. The screen is enormous and vivid. The screen is bright enough for outdoor use, so long as the sun isn't shining directly onto it. I love the black finish, and it's not as much of a fingerprint magnet as I though it would be. I have a blackberry curve that gets my fingers a little sweaty after prolonged use, but the PSP does not. Certainly a plus.

The D-pad on this unit is FANTASTIC. Anyone who owns an Xbox 360 understands that a D-pad can be very frustrating if done wrong. Not the case here, as it handles like a dream. The buttons are large and feel great as well. As for the analog "nub", I haven't quite come around to it yet. I haven't played any games that fully rely on it, but in using it sparingly in some games, and on the web browser, I can say that it just doesn't feel that great to me. Your milage may vary.

I have noticed NONE of the ballywhoed (is that how you spell it?) interlacing problems that I've seen mentioned. The screen is perfect during gameplay, and the screen is perfect during movie playback. Period.

Also of note, the PSP does have a good games library, contrary to the opinons of some. (I'd recommend Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2, and the wonderful Patapon for starters) Other than gameplay, I'd say that where the PSP excels is as a music/podcast player. The XMB works well, just like the PS3's. I have about a dozen albums on my PSP, (on a memory stick of course) and also get my daily dose of Pardon the Interruption via my PSP. I download the PTI podcast direct from the PSP's web browser, negating the need to hook it up to a computer. I LOVE this feature. Speaking of which, I'd say that the web browser is about what you'd expect. Not bad, not great. Par for the course in mobile devices.

I gave the PSP-3000 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons:

-The PSP is very picky as a video player. Do some searches on the web about the PSP's required video codecs and you'll seee that it's a huge hassle getting video on this thing. I was quite disappointed by this.
-Speaker volume. I listen to my podcasts with the volume turned all the way up, but I still wish it would go higher. I've seen this mentioned by others as well.
-Disc noise. With some titles, you'll hear an alarming scratching noise during loading times. I practically ran to a computer to see if others had this problem when I first heard it, but it seems that this is nothing out of the ordinary. Hear it for the first time and you'll see why I was so worried. It sounds AWFUL. I do admit that I have gotten used to it though. (Also, Patapon does NOT exhibit this problem during loading. Disc noise seemingly varies from game to game.)
-Memory. How the hell does this system still not have internal memory? Anything you'll ever want to do (play games, store media) will require a memory stick. Memory sticks are of course more expensive than similiar media, because it's Sony's proprietary format. Ugh. Having said that, you can get a good price on 4gb sticks now. But it still hurts to have to shell out more money after springing for the already pricy PSP.

Shortcomings aside, I still recommend the PSP-3000 for anyone looking for a capable game machine. For those like myself that don't carry an iPod or similiar media device, the PSP comes with a higher recommendation since it aptly serves to replace the iPod's media features. All around a great handheld.

PSP (2009-02-21)
GOT THIS FOR A FRIEND ON CHRISTMAS HE WAS SO EXCITED HE REALLY LOVE IT

PSP Lite...and it feels like it (2009-02-05)
I bought this for my daughter so I really have no complaints. But her first expression was "wow" and her second expression was about how "flimsy" the console felt. Her brother has last year's model so we have a basis for comparison. However, enthusiastically plays the games I bought with it so...I really have no complaints.

Sony PSP 2000 (2009-01-24)
This game was my own Christmas gift, I love it! Id recommend this for anyone who is looking for a console to play some good games on. Not only games are played on it there are a lot of things that can be done such as watch movies, and it can store many many songs, pictures and games too. . . I like it, the only thing that is a con is that the battery dies after about 4 to 5 hours of game play. . .but the pro is that it recharges fully very quicly and satys charged....

Crap. (2009-01-22)
I owned a PSP for a year. Keeping in mind it took buying three to get a functional unit. Sony sent me one that way pre-played, scratched, used, and the MUD disc drive didn't work as a replacement for the second one....total BS. The PSP also has alot of gameplay issues with freezing, small easily accessable easily breakable parts, expencive memory cards, and basically nothing comming with it....plus the lack of games as of late is a real downer. I traded this in, stopped my woes and bought a DS so much better and more games!
