PSP 3000 - Excellent upgrade (2009-06-26)
Hello,

I just upgraded from a PSP2000 model, decided not to wait for the PSP-GO as I don't like to be too much on the bleeding edge of new tech devices.

Let me first say the screen on this model is far superior to the previous models in every way. Richer colors, and a brighter display, make gaming on the go much easier on the eyes!

The built in mic is a nice touch for online gaming and Skype. Also the device has been more streamlined. The edges, corners, etc. are more rounded now. Feels a little better when holding it for long periods of time.

For those new to PSP - Besides gaming, you can do a LOT of stuff with this device. On the Playstation store you can download games, movies, TV shows, and more. And now that iTunes is DRM free you can easily put your music on the PSP as well. Drag and drop or download Sony's Media GO (PC ONLY). For Mac users get PSP-Ware or Missing Sync. These work well and are not expensive.

If you don't have a PSP, get it. And if you are considering upgrading from the previous models, you won't be disappointed.

PSP 3000 instead of PSP-GO (2009-06-25)
Well I decided to go with the PSP 3000 instead of the GO. The main deciding factor was that the GO has a smaller screen size which is just not cool with me. Also the 3000 WILL take 16gig memory cards so the GO has no advantage there and may be at a disadvantage without a UMD slot.

The 3000 is slim, well built, and has a nice feel in the hand. The screen is large and brilliant though glare and fingerprints remain to be a problem. The speakers sound great for how small they are and the system has lots of power with reasonable battery life.

I do not think it deserves five stars though because the web browser is clumsy and slow. I also wish that the PSN was more integrated for those of us who also have PS3s. Trophies and profile info should be the same for both systems and both systems should be able to contribute to your collection of trophies IMO.

Also, you can count the games worth owning on one hand. I bought this system just to play Crisis Core, (totally worth it btw). But on the horizon are many amazing titles like Peacewalker and GT, now is a good time to get a PSP.

PSP 3000...... Shoulda kept the 2000 (2009-06-23)
I sold my PSP 2000 prior to the release of this product to get the highest worth out of my PSP.

Granted, I have no issue with the PSP-3000, I honestly do not feel there is a noticeable difference between the 2000 and 3000.

If you have a PSP 2000, i say keep it.

excellent product (2009-06-22)
I had no idea what I was buying, as it was for my son for his 17th birthday. It was exactly what he wanted and it was here on time and in excellent condition. Thank you for the description of the product as it really helped with my purchase.

PSP 3000 system (2009-06-13)
No issues with the system yet. Ordered a memory stick at the same time and still have not received it 3 weeks after I received the PSP speedily. Can't get everything you want I guess.

Good case but too small and a little cheap (2009-06-25)
The quality is good considering how low the price is, it has a good zipper and rugged padding. There is a little metal clasp in the case that scratches the PSP though. It is not big enough to hold the charging cable and that is a deal killer for me, I want everything i need in one small case.

Pretty Good (2009-06-10)
This is a pretty nice case for the price.

Pros: No branding, well made, rubber coating on outside and 2 belt options.

Cons: Rivet makes contact with PSP and moves when clip does. Tight fit for a PSP 3000. Only 2 UMDs and PSP can fit in case.

Overall it's not bad. I would give it 3.5 stars. Just wish it was a tiny bit bigger and the rivet had some fabric over it.

Gods of war for PSP (2009-06-05)
I really like this game case it is very sturdy and protects my PSP well.I also like the pockets for the games.

works well (2009-04-06)
Its not somthing you can, or want, to over stuff. But it works well for bringing a few things for a trip that will take a few hours. Pretty good protection too.

Great case for traveling, but beware that it may damage UMD disks (2009-04-06)
This is a great case for the price. You need to be careful putting your PSP in and out of it to be sure you don't scratch the screen on the zippers. It holds your memory cards which is great. It has spots to hold 4 UMD disks. However, I recommend NOT using storing them here. It is VERY tight, and will end up cracking the cases on your disks. This happened to multiple UMDs that I had. I was able to fix them with a paperclip, but now they are cracked and I have to be careful with them.

The case itself is very nice. Especially for the price. I originally used this with my "phat" PSP-1001, and it worked fine. I now use it with my PSP-2000. It is very durable and I have dropped my PSP in the case many times with no damage.

What I really like the most about the case is the clip that is connected to it. I travel quite a bit and am always walking through the airport. I love to use this to clip to my belt loop when I am listening to music. I am able to put my PSP-2000 in the case with my headphones/remote connected to it and let the cord hang out the top. I then can listen to music and adjust volume while my PSP is in it's case hanging on my belt loop!!! This is BY FAR the best use for the case that I would not give up for anything.

If you don't listen to music a lot with it, and are looking for a case that you can also store games... definitely pass on this. If you just want a case to protect your PSP and use it to travel with while listening to music... there is NOTHING better.

Final Fantasy dungeon crawler (2009-06-23)
I've been a big fan of the final fantasy series going back to the original NES and SNES games so I have high expectations for the final fantasy series. I think this is a poor offering. Overall I'd say it's an average game, but as a Final Fantasy game it fails to live up to the standard of other FF products.

For starters this is not a team based cooperative play system. It has the same type of random encounter / turn based (timed really) combat system but there is only 1 player you control. This makes the combat a bit 1 dimensional. While you can improve and customize your character you don't get the extra dimensions of game play you can achieve by equipping and positioning team members for certain roles.

The plot might be great but the way it is executed turns this into a scripted, point to point dungeon crawler. There isn't any world to explore or any options in executing the plot. You go to a dungeon, fight random encounters, defeat a boss, watch a cut scene, go back to a central location, train for a while, go to the next dungeon, repeat. There was no sense of adventure, and that's really where it failed.

It adds a lot of intriguing pretext for Final Fantasy VII (PS1), the main character is cool, I like the look and feel of environment and especially some of the allies and adversaries. For all the character building they accomplish it's really too bad you never get to team up. I should also mention that the cinematography and voice acting is good.

Overall I see this as an average game in a sea of average adventure games for the PSP, the exception being God of War. They've met the demand for a PSP Final Fantasy title by churning something out which, in my opinion is uninspired and does not improve the fortunes of this generally ailing franchise.

The Best (2009-06-01)
This is easily the best game you will find for the PSP. Totally awesome with lots of game time (tons of side quests). Well worth the price.

brilliant story lline as a preequel for finaly fantasy 7 (2009-05-28)
great prequel to Final Fantasy 7 on the playstation one. Lots of unique features to the game. If you have a PSP this is definitely worth buying.

I really love it!! (2009-05-21)
OH.. I brought this game, and I really enjoy it. now, i'm playing the second round, it is still fun.

Unexpected. (2009-05-02)
To be honest I was fairly skeptical of this game. In general I'm much more interested in turn-based party rpgs, but this was a pleasant surprise. The story is great, there is almost a rhythm to the different attacks you sequence, and the way the leveling system works takes some of the mindless grinding out of it.

If you liked FFVII, pick this up and give it a shot!

GREAT!! (2009-06-19)
MORE THAN GREAT!!

* GAMES

* MOVIES...... IT WORTH EVERY DOLLAR!!!!!

Hacker's Nightmare = No ISOS (2009-06-09)
This is the UNPANDORIZABLE motherboard and not a PSP 2000.

It is a PSP 2001.

I'm glad I asked my friend about his amazon slim psp.

I returned mine unopened.

If you got stuck with this piece of ... :plastic: ...
look into the recent ChickHEN so that you can at least access homebrew.

Meets Our Needs (2009-05-15)
My kids have Playstation so when they wanted a portable, I looked at the PSP. With the wireless feature you can play multi-player anywhere you have WiFi (big deal for teens on family road trips).

The screens are good and give you clear graphics. There's 135 games which I think it's more then enough. My kids tend to have a few favorites that they play over and over anyway.

Great buy! (2009-05-08)
First, Amazon was the only place I could find the PSP 2000 - everyone else only carries the 3000 version (which I'm told has issues). So thanks Amazon for having what I needed. It arrived when promised and my husband doesn't have to borrow our sons' anymore!

Portable gaming device that needs more games (2009-03-26)
Sony has delivered a great product. However, the game developers need to get busy. There are very few must have titles even though the promises and rumors continue to claim each year will be THE year. In any event, the hardware is well thought out and the software continues to be improved - although the fun and exciting features are typically scattered. The screen is large and bright and makes movies a joy to watch while traveling or sitting on public transit. The built-in wireless adapter and the software makes network connectivity simple. And the recent addition of access to the Playstation Store is a wonderful treat. The battery life has never been a problem for my usage. It would be great if the PSP had built-in storage space, but memory sticks are cheap enough these days to ignore such an oversight.
